We've been busy!!

The last week has been a busy one. It seems like we have been doing something almost every night, so I haven't been able to keep up with the blog. Here is a brief recap.
Friday 6/20/08 - Brooke and I picked Darren up at work for lunch. We ate at HippoDogs and enjoyed some relaxing time at the park.

Saturday 6/21/08 - Darren and I went to our friends', Rich and Missy's, wedding. It was a lovely ceremony and a very nice dinner with some of our favorite company.

The Bride and Groom: Melissa and Richard Koch

Sunday 6/22/08 - We all went to visit Darren's family in Battle Creek. Brooklyn was happy to see her Nana (grandmother) and Nani (great-grandmother)

Monday 6/23/08: The three of us went to the Sigma Gamma Fireworks Picnic. It is a fundraiser for The Detroit Institute for Children - that's where I work. Brooklyn won a handknit sweater in the silent auction. She wore protective ear muffs for the fireworks show just in case the loud noises were too startling, but she didn't seem to mind them at all.

Darren's First Father's Day

Darren, Brooke, and I went to Midland today to visit Darren's dad for Father's Day. That of course was after Brooke served him breakfast in bed and gave him his Father's Day gifts.
After church and lunch, we went to Dow Gardens and took a few family pictures.

Then Darren and Brooke spent a little "Father-Daughter" time together this afternoon.

Brooke's 1st Royal Oak Bike Night

Darren and I have spent many Thursday nights in downtown Royal Oak. It is their unofficial sport bike night, and every week there are a couple hundred motorcycles, mostly sport bikes cruising or parked up and down Main street. Well, Darren sold his motorcycle Wednesday, so to help cheer him up, Brooke and I took him on a date to bike night. We had dinner and then sat watched all of the bikes ride by - Brooke even tried one on for size, and she definitely liked the pink helmet!
"That looks a little big for me."
